World Mental Health Day

Mental health can affect anyone, any day of the year, but the 10th of October is a great day for us to show our support for better mental health and well being.

In the SSC, we frequently discuss and promote the importance of looking after our mental health. Mental health is just like our physical health: everyone has it and we need to take care of it.

This year’s theme is kindness. When you are kind to others, it not only promotes their mental well being but it also has a positive effect on your own! A small act of kindness can boost your mental health, lower stress and cheer your mood by thinking of others.

The SSC class wanted to share this strategy and promote kindness to other students and staff at Bowker Vale.

Each member of the SSC designed a ‘kindness stone’, which will be displayed in our school’s memorial garden. Hopefully they will make people smile and remind others to always be kind, to themselves and others.

We are looking forward to seeing more ‘kindness stones’, created by other members of Bowker Vale, so please feel free to add your design to the collection.

Have a super Saturday everyone and remember kindness matters most!

Wow! Well done SSC Class. I am really impressed with how hard you have been working.
I love these rocks. I think that they will put a smile on people’s faces and remind people to be kind to themselves and to others.
