Homework 30.09.2020

Hello Year 3,

We were so impressed by your brilliant volcano inspired homework projects last week, well done.

This week we would like you create something inspired by your favourite Traditional Tale. You could rewrite it with a different ending, you could create an illustration, or you could film yourself acting it out.

We can’t wait to see what you do! Remember to send to a picture of your work to year3@bowkervale.manchester.sch.uk

Year 1 Homework 30.9.20

Many thanks to all of the children (and grown ups!) who have sent photos and videos of homework. We can already see how much letter formation has improved in our lessons.

This week we will be looking at the one armed robot letter family.

Like the other letters, these start on the line, go up back down and then back up the same line.

Don’t forget to show us your hard work at home by sending any photos to the Year One email address.

Year One Reading Books

All Year One children have brought home their new reading book. Please spend time with your child reading their book each night for about 10 minutes.

Each time they read can you sign their record to let us know how they are finding it.

In the front of the reading record there is a sheet with question prompts that you can ask before, as you are reading and at the end of the book. This will help with their understanding of the story and what they have read.

Thank you for your continued support.

30.9.20 Homework

For your homework this week we would like you to write a character profile. A character profile is a detailed description of a fictional character’s life and personality. First, watch the story of ‘The 3 little pigs’

http://www.literactive.com/Download/live.asp?swf=story_files/three_little_pigs_US.swf

Next, use the adjective word mat and character profile template to help you write a character profile for the big bad wolf . Remember to use the correct letter formation and punctuation.

Finally, send your finished masterpiece to year2@bowkervale.manchester.sch.uk

Y5 homework 30.10.2020

For this week’s homework please login to Times Table Rock Stars: https://play.ttrockstars.com/auth/school/student/53891

Play any of the games in single or multiplayer. There will be nothing to email us with, but we will look as classes to see if our ‘heatmap’ has improved.

In the charts below, reds and oranges means that lots of us get that question wrong or are slow to remember the answer. Green shades mean you absolutely ROCK! Can you turn our charts to green?!
