Good morning everyone – I hope you are all well.
As you now know, we are currently in Phase 2 of our wider opening phase during this ‘Protection Period’. Phase 2 will continue to last until Friday 17th July, when school will close to all pupils for the Summer holidays. During Phase 2, we have welcomed back ‘bubbles’ of learners into Year 6 and Year 1 and Reception bubbles will return next week.
We have continued to offer daily provision for children of Key Workers, since the start of lockdown. For everyone else, a return to school will not be until Phase 3.
Phase 3 will be September. There are some things that we know and some things that we don’t know yet. We do know that all children will return to school. This means every year group will return! We are so happy about this! In order to support everyone’s wellbeing, for the first 2 weeks of term, children will go back to their ‘old’ classroom with their ‘old’ teachers and will spend quality time together reflecting on what has happened and preparing for what is ahead. This will include visits to their ‘new’ classroom and ‘new’ teacher. From Monday 14th September onwards, all the classes will have moved up and we can start to welcome our new Reception and Nursery intake. We do not know if we are able to have full classes back in the classroom at the same time. We await government guidelines to see if the social distancing guidelines will be relaxed. If they remain at 2m, or even 1m, we would be unable to fit 30 children in one classroom at a time. More information will follow as soon as we know more.
Thank you for your continued support during these unprecedented times. We are all looking forward to getting back to a Bowker Vale normal!
