Mr Sunderland visited year six today to share his knowledge about World War One. The children will use what they found out in a non chronological report next week.
Well done to the children who were spotted this week for great behaviour or good work.
It’s nearly December and we have lots of fun things planned in the run up to Christmas. The children will be really excited to learn that the Pantomime is coming to school! On Wed 4th Dec, in our school hall, all children from Nursery to Yr6 will enjoy the ‘Sleeping Beauty’ show. This will all be paid for from our school fund.
Next week on Friday, children can come wearing their own blue and white clothes to celebrate St Andrews day – or they can wear their uniform if they would like – it’s still in the correct colours! We will be enjoying some Scottish shortbread for our school meal that day!
It’s our NSPCC assembly for children in Yrs 1-6 and workshops for Yrs 5 and 6 on Wednesday. Adults are welcome to come to a special workshop for you at 2.15pm. Please join us!

This week we took green screen technology one step further. We set up multiple green screens in the classroom and set the children off to create. They came back with weather forecasts, news reports, guided tours, information footage and much more all in the comfort of our very own mini-movie studio. Watch out Disney! 4M Film Productions will soon be up and running!
On Friday 8th November, Year 3 participated in a Greek afternoon. As part of the afternoon, we learnt about when Ancient Greece happened by creating a human timeline looking at some significant dates in history. The children then learnt some interesting information about the Greek Gods and Goddesses. We then used some drama to create a tableaux to imitate the Gods and Goddesses. The children were then able to try some different Greek food including olives and Feta cheese. We finished our afternoon by learning some Greek dancing. Overall, we all thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon.
Today the children in Nursery and Reception were visited by a dental nurse ahead of our Dental check ups on Wednesday. We learned all about how to look after our teeth and which foods we should eat and which we shouldn’t have too much of. If you haven’t brought your child’s dental consent form please do so by Wednesday morning at the latest.
Well done to everyone who supported our fundraising on Friday. The children enjoyed coming to school in spotty clothes and the staff enjoyed cheering on the ducks in the special Children in Need duck race! We raised over £400! Well done everyone!
We learned about the importance of hand washing this morning in assembly, especially at this time of year when coughs and sneezes can spread diseases!
We learned and practiced the 6 steps of hand washing below. Mrs Jacques spotted some Year 5 superstars getting in a lather at lunch time today! Well done!
You can also use hand sanitiser for a quicker result and this still removes 99.9% of known germs too!
Use the same 6 hand movements with hand sanitiser as you would washing with soap and water.
