Sharing our work.

Year 2M and 4M had the opportunity this week to share their fantastic writing. The children enjoyed ‘showing off’ their writing and explaining their learning journey with each other.

Key Stage One

Well done to the children in Key Stage One who got certificates this week!

Attendance this week is 97.6%! Well done and thank you everybody – this is well above our target of 96%.

Special congratulations to 3SU and SSC classes who have both achieved 100% – a great achievement.

Unfortunately there were 65 late arrivals at school this week, which is more than last week. Please remember school doors are open between 8.40 and 8.50, arriving after 8.50 means you are late to school.

Pass and run!

We have been working on our short passes using our hands and travelling forward today. It was great fun and we were all a little shattered afterwards!

Buddy’s Training

Buddy is starting the training towards his Silver Award this term. Children from Yr5 are helping him get there by practicing all of the important skills he needs – things like staying for 2 minutes, recalling back to his handler from distractions, walking safely and calmly on a pavement and stopping correctly to cross a road.

Shelly, our Dog Trainer, will be coming regularly this term, with her dog, Theo, to help and teach Buddy.

Cross Country fun!

A number of children took part in a two leg cross country run over the past two weeks. They had to complete two circuits of a playing field at Our Lady’s, followed by one circuit at The Coop Academy North. They all did really well and beat their own placement in the second event. Well done you guys, you were brilliant, displaying super Sportsmanship and participation – a credit to Bowker Vale!

The Imperial War Museum

Year six had a great day out at the Imperial War Museum today. They found out lots of relevant information which will help them during their World War One topic.
