We were exploring how the weight of an object impacts on the gravitational pull. Fun with science!
We had a great day on World Book Day! We dressed in our favourite characters, listened to a few spooky stories and created book covers and a plan for our own version of a Goosebumps book. Can you guess who we dressed as?
2K had a fantastic time yesterday celebrating World Book Day. We read lots of books by the author Anthony Browne and took part in lots of fun activities. We collaged, did some research on the mini laptops and even predicted what we thought would happen next in one of his stories The Tunnel.
Year 3 had the most fantastic experience at the Share A Story World Book Day event at Manchester Airport.
We sat under the wings of concorde and enjoyed stories from famous authors including Tom Fletcher (from McFLy fame!), Cressida Cowell (How to Train Your Dragon) and Abi Elphinstone.
It was really an amazing trip and a fantastic experience for all of us! Everyone received a signed copy from their choice of author too! How lucky are we!
Year 6M dressed up in their favourite book-character costumes.
We cannot wait to learn about our author – Liz Pinchon- today.
Our last couple of days at JCA were fantastic and not even the rain could dampen our spirits. We completed lots of activities including buggy building, tag archery and team challenge. On Thursday evening, we had a silent disco where we got to dress up in our best clothes and dance to our favourite music.
We had a brilliant time at JCA, but were glad to see our families again on Friday.
Buddy adores the chicks, he comes every day to check on them. A big well done to Buddy for being so gentle and well behaved around the chicks
On Monday we had a very special delivery of 9 eggs. The farmer asked us to look after the eggs until they hatched. Over the next couple of days all 9 eggs had hatched and now we have 9 fluffy yellow chicks. We have been really enjoying watching them grow. When the chicks are about 1 week old we will be able to hold and stroke them. Feel free to pop in and see our chicks.
Ths week Year 4 visited the Manchester Police Museum as part of our Crime and Punishment Topic. The museum guides were very impressed by the knowledge the children had about how the police force was formed and different modern day punishments. The children got to see police equipment through the years and even got to act like police officers dressed in real uniform! I think we’d all feel the streets of Manchester would be in safe hands with our wonderful Year 4 policing the community! Well done guys!
This week the Bowker Vale football team were on the road again. Most of the Year 6 team members were away at JCA, so we recruited from the Year 4 ranks to give some of our younger players a taste of what was to come! The team lost 8 – 5, but I think they gave a superb account of themselves against a very well drilled and experienced St Chad’s side. The future looks bright for Bowker Vale football! Well done boys!
