Today the Giraffes thought of adjectives to describe the animals from the story Handa’s Surprise. Each team had a talking stick to ensure that they all had a turn to talk.
We are so proud of Isabella for her fantastic hero story, which has resulted in her winning the Regional Award for Explore Learning!!
I read the story to everyone in assembly – everyone agreed it was a fantastic story with such an amazing message of hope and love.
Well done Isabella!
We have been learning all about hot and cold countries in Year 1. This week the focus was Kenya. We looked at the life of a young girl in a Kenyan village and discussed the similarities and differences between her life and our own. Then we looked at African masks and designed our very own.
This week we created a poster on Pic Collage using the iPads. The aim of our poster was to advertise all of the fantastic facilities we have in the playground at Bowker Vale. The children really enjoyed taking their own pictures of the Vale Trail, the playground, the astroturf and then manipulating the images on Pic Collage, adding their own backgrounds, text and stickers!
Buddy is 2 weeks old today! See below for him with Molly his Mum and his 8 sisters (remember out of the litter of 9 he was the only boy!) He is wearing the royal blue collar on the pictures.
To celebrate the Royal Wedding, we had a picnic lunch outside and then had scones with cream and jam during GTBG. We had a great day!
